Yes. All customers are required to pay a refundable security deposit before storing. This starts at just £10 per unit and is dependent on the size unit you choose. Booking your personal indoor storage unit at Atrium Self Storage is simple. All you will require is;
- One Photo ID (UK Passport/Driving Licence)
- One proof of UK address (e.g. utility bill)
- A credit or debit card for first payment
- Your bank details to set up a Direct Debit
- Copy of your insurance cover note if Atrium Self Storage cover not taken
- A padlock for your unit

At Atrium Self Storage we make payment simple. All units are paid for on a monthly basis in advance by direct debit. We also will send you a detailed invoice statement per month for your records. Should you wish to cancel your unit, please give us 14 days written notice.

If you find the amount of things you have in storage has changed and you require either a smaller or larger unit at any point during your stay, provided we have availability you can change your unit whenever you wish. You can pack your storage unit however you like – our staff are always on hand to advise you of the best way to pack your unit to make the most of the space you have. When considering what size unit you will need, don’t forget to stack the items in the unit. You’re only paying for the floor space, not the height. It’s very simple, you can do this yourself or we can help you arrange removals, transport or van hire. We have plenty of parking spaces onsite for loading and unloading, roller shutter door access to the building, two lifts to the upper floor and plenty of trolleys on hand to make things easy!

The goods in your storage unit remain your responsibility. You will be required to have insurance cover against loss or damage to your goods during the period of storage. Our storage specialists can provide great value insurance tailored to self storage when you enquire with us or make a booking. We use specialist insurers with knowledge of the self storage industry and customer needs, who can therefore handle and process any claims quickly and with minimum hassle.
You are welcome to take out your own insurance cover but since it is a requirement of the UK Self Storage Association then we will have to ask for evidence that you have this in place before you can move your things in. If you do choose to arrange insurance yourself all we require is a letter confirming that your goods are insured whilst in our storage facility.
All Atrium Self Storage units require a padlock to secure them. You can provide your own padlock or you can purchase a padlock from our reception area. If you are bringing your own padlock please check with the team that it is suitable for use. Please see here for our Office Opening Hours.
Yes, we sell a full range of boxes and packing materials at Atrium Self Storage. Our storage specialists will provide you will a full price list when you enquire with us or make a booking.

Once you have booked your unit and signed your contract you will be set up on the security system and can come and go as often as you like. Access is 24 hours 365 days a year, free and unlimited so you have complete control over moving the items to and from your unit.

We will send you a reminder before this point and contact you to settle the payment before it becomes a problem. If however you do miss a payment, we will allow you 10 days to settle your outstanding amount. After this time you will be charged a penalty late charge, your unit will also be locked by us and your fob entry temporarily disabled until the account is settled. You will be informed in writing when this takes place, as per the terms of your Customer Agreement. We will be in contact to inform you of any further developments if the account remains outstanding.
If you lose your entry fob please contact us ASAP on 01709 718143. There is a charge of £10 for lost or unreturned entry fobs.
If you have lost the key to your padlock then we can cut your lock off should this be necessary – please don’t forget to provide a new padlock to secure your room afterwards. There is a £10 charge for lock cutting.
Yes. In accordance with the Self Storage Association UK you must not store (and you must not allow any other person to store) any of the following in the room:
- Food or perishable goods unless approved by us and provided that they are protected from and do not attract vermin;
- Plants, birds, fish, animals or any other creatures;
- Combustible, flammable, explosive or oxidising materials, liquids or gases e.g. paint, petrol, oil, cleaning solvents, gas cylinders, cellulose nitrate film, fireworks;
- Firearms, weapons, ammunition, explosives or the components thereof;
chemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents; pollutants, toxic or hazardous materials or contaminated goods or other materials of a potentially dangerous nature;
- Any item which emits any fumes, smell or odour;
- Any illegal substances, illegal items or goods illegally obtained, including counterfeit goods, illicit (smuggled/counterfeit) tobacco, illicit alcohol, unlicensed medicines, unsafe goods (including toys, electrical items, cosmetics, fireworks);
- Compressed non-flammable gases without our written consent and in accordance with our specific requirements;
- Any item of high value requiring specialist storage (including without limitation jewellery, money, bullion, deeds, bonds, securities, stamps, antiques, fine art or fine wines);
- Waste materials including any materials or goods for export deemed to be waste e.g. used electrical equipment (unless tested and certified for re-use), used vehicles or parts thereof.
No. In accordance with the Self Storage Association UK we do not permit the use of storage units for anything other than storing items. Sleeping or attempting to live from our storage units is strictly prohibited and in breach of your terms and conditions of use.

Please note that all codes are valid for the 50% off the first 8 weeks, based on a minimum booking of 4 months. Only one voucher code can be used per customer and is only valid for new customers.
